Building a strong core is the first step towards creating strength and supporting the muscles around the spine - helping to reduce lower-back pain and the risk of lower-back injury. The term "Core" applies to a few muscles throughout the upper and lower body. Core muscles will stabilize the spine. Core exercises train the muscles in your pelvis, lower back, hips and abdomen to work in harmony. This leads to better balance and stability, whether on the playing field or in daily activities. In fact, most sports and other physical activities depend on stable core muscles!!!!

Just because we don't chant or use Sanskrit, doesn't mean that we are not yogis. Being a yogi is so much more than philosophizing, chanting or speaking the ancient language. Instead, what we do is try to live our life being true to who we are and to let others be true to who they are. We want to share our knowledge and our enthusiasm for yoga with all.
We do request that you arrive early, take your shoes off when entering, turn your phone off, and that you avoid wearing perfumes or other fragrances. Most of all, have fun! There is no judgement, no fashion show, no one having a practice better than anyone elses - just a great workout and great people. Come to class regularly, arrive a little early and talk with the other students. Have fun and enjoy the practice!
